Mobile Clinic Expansion

Three townships in Karenni State have gone without regular medical services for an extended period, forcing residents to travel hours over difficult terrain to reach the nearest functioning clinic. For families with young children or chronic health conditions, that distance can mean the difference between timely treatment and a medical emergency.

This project extends KHAI's existing mobile clinic routes to reach these underserved areas on a regular, predictable schedule. Each visit includes general consultations, maternal and child health checks, and basic medication, with a referral pathway to partner hospitals for cases requiring more advanced care.

Local volunteers help coordinate visit schedules and communicate them to residents in advance, ensuring that clinic days reach the people who need them most. As routes stabilize, the team is also assessing which locations might eventually support a small permanent health post, reducing reliance on mobile visits over time.
