Shelter Rebuilding Program

Conflict left many families in this resettlement area without a home to return to, forced instead into makeshift structures that offered little protection from the elements or long-term stability.

The Shelter Rebuilding Program prioritized the most vulnerable households, including families headed by widows, the elderly, and people with disabilities, for the construction of durable, weather-resistant shelters. Building materials and designs were chosen to balance durability with what local teams could realistically maintain and repair over time.

Beyond individual homes, the project supported small improvements to shared spaces within the resettlement area, helping restore a sense of community alongside physical shelter. All planned shelters have now been completed and handed over to resident families.
