Food Security

Conflict and displacement have repeatedly cut families off from their farmland, markets, and sources of income, leaving many households without reliable access to food. In the most acute cases, emergency distribution is the only thing standing between a family and hunger.

KHAI's Food Security program combines short-term emergency food distribution with longer-term agricultural support. Immediate needs are met through regular distributions of staple foods to the most vulnerable households, prioritizing families with young children, pregnant or nursing mothers, and the elderly.

At the same time, the program works with communities to rebuild sustainable food production, providing seeds, tools, and training suited to the land available to displaced and returnee families. The goal is not simply to feed people today, but to help them grow food and earn a living again on their own terms.
